Beginners Piano Lessons
Once you start learning piano, you'll find that you have embarked upon a journey that will never end. No matter how proficient you become at the piano, you'll find that there is always something new to learn. For the beginner it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. But beginning piano is just like beginning any other skill. You take things one step at a time. Even the longest journey begins with just one step.
History is helpful
Some of the online resources for learning the piano are aimed specifically at the beginner. Typically these beginners piano lessons will introduce you to the piano itself and provide a bit of background on its history and construction. Although this may seem a bit superfluous it will help to put your efforts into context. Having the background knowledge gives you a broader perspective.
Sight read or play-by-ear?
Depending on whether you have chosen to go down the sight-reading route or down the play-by-ear route, the course should introduce you to the keyboard and its layout. And it should explain why it's laid out as it is. Typically, to enthuse you from the word go, it will have you playing a simple tune within minutes. If you have never played before, the sense of accomplishment that this will give you is not to be underestimated. Knowing that it's possible to get a recognizable tune out of an instrument that you have never played before will motivate you enormously.
